Stay at Penrhiw Farm

Recently restored and updated, Penrhiw Farm B&B offers 4 stylish double en-suite rooms. Each room features a mix of vintage furniture and modern touches, including Welsh woollen blankets, reclaimed furniture and flat-screen TVs.

Downstairs, a large guest sitting room welcomes you with an open fire, a collection of books and magazines, a good selection of original art and inviting sofas.

Outside, the gardens are really something. Stylish landscaping, breathtaking views and intimate seating areas make them the perfect spot to enjoy glass of wine or cup of coffee.

If you’re feeling adventurous, we also offer a glamping experience in Dennis, our renovated horsebox, and a self-catering stay in our static caravan.

Local Area

Goodwick and Fishguard are steeped in history. A neolithic burial chamber is in the field behind the farmhouse and the first flight to Ireland took off just 100 yards away in 1912.

The last invasion of mainland Britain in 1797 happened on the coast nearby and is commemorated in Fishguard with a beautiful tapestry.

Penrhiw Farm is conveniently located on the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Ideal for walkers, beach-goers and anyone looking to explore more of West Wales.

Meet your host

I am your host, Alan, Pembrokeshire born and bred.

After many years working as a chef in hotels and restaurants, I returned to help run Penrhiw, the family farm, where I was born and raised.

My parents bought Penrhiw Farm in the 70s and turned organic in the 90s. Using milk from our organic herd of predominately jersey cows, we now sell their dairy to an organic collective, Calon Wen and are in the process of making our own artisan cheese.

After a long restoration, we transformed the farmhouse into a modern, stylish Bed & Breakfast which opened in March 2022. My partner, Philip, and I live in the other part of the house with our two adorable whippets.

I’m a keen cyclist, swimmer, runner, and horse rider. Growing up on the Pembrokeshire coast, I know a lot about the local area and can happily recommend the best walks and places to visit during your stay.

Food at Penrhiw

Delicious, nourishing food is essential for a holiday spent exploring the Pembrokeshire coast and countryside.

Food at Penrhiw is freshly cooked and prepared. I use the best ingredients available each day with a focus on home-grown, seasonal, local and organic where possible.

All dietary requirements catered for (just let us know in advance).

Each morning we serve a cooked Welsh Breakfast with freshly ground coffee and a selection of teas.

In the evenings we offer a fixed 2-course supper. This is available every other night throughout the summer and on request during our quieter winter months.

You’re welcome to bring your own wine to enjoy with dinner. A small wine list and a selection of locally sourced beers are also available to buy from the hotel.

Mealtimes at Penrhiw are a social affair, enjoyed around a family dining table where you can enjoy great conversation and exchange holiday tips with fellow guests. Lifelong friendships are made here!

If you prefer a more intimate setting, a second dining room is available for a quieter meal.

Sustainability at Penrhiw Farm

Sustainability is important to all of us here at Penrhiw.

Heating comes via an air source heat pump, the walls, floors and ceilings are insulated, solar panels and a wind turbine contributes to our power.

Carefully chosen antique and vintage furniture and natural materials give Penrhiw Farm B&B a homely and welcoming feel.

Each room comes with its own unique charm. Exposed bulb lighting and reclaimed wood walls in the bathrooms are repurposed from the farm’s original floorboards.

The carpets are 100% wool.  Furniture is rescued and repurposed from The Dorchester Hotel and the colourful blankets on the bed are from a mill just down the road.

Organic tea and coffee is provided in the bedrooms and with breakfast. We’re an organic dairy farm so our milk is as fresh as it comes.
